9/11 Flags 9.9.21
We put up 3,000 flags for 9/11. Each flag we place represents a lost life. This year the flags mean a lot more because it is the 20th anniversary. Picture from Kevin Martin from the Morning Journal.

2021 Virtual District Leadership Convention
Alex Marter placed 2nd in the 2021 Virtual District Leadership Convention. Alex is a self taught baker who started her own business.
Veterans Honor Run 11.8.20
Key Clubbers helped set-up flags and other equipment, passed out water, and distributed medals to the runners. All of the money raised from the race goes to local veteran organizations.
Haunted Trails 10.17.20
The Haunted Trails (Boo by the Woods) took place at Weiss this year. Volunteers did a great job being tour guides and actors!
Courtyard Cleanup 10.16.20

9/11 Mural
Officers from ALHS Key Club accepted a check from the Avon Lake Police Department for assistance with their Big Trucks event in the fall. With this money, the Key Club is planning to construct a mural honoring those who have fallen during the 9/11 attacks. The mural will be finished in the spring of 2019.

Avon Lake Key Club walked with Kiwanis in the annual Homecoming Parade. The parade was sponsored by Avon Lake High School and many of the other floats were driven by other clubs.

Once again, we had a lot of fun at the District Leadership Conference held at Embassy Suites in Dublin, OH. Case and Ev defended their title and won first place again in the talent competition, singing No Sleep Til Brooklyn. Unfortunately, our video did not place, and that's fake news because it is killer.

The Homecoming Parade took place Homecoming Day at around 10am. Volunteers walked in the parade with Kiwanis and promoted the Pancake Breakfast.

Big Trucks was held this year on the 16th of September. Thank you to our volunteers who helped make the event another large success.

In preparation for 9/11, volunteers helped set up 2,996 new flags that were donated by the American Legion and our Avon Lake Kiwanis. Each flag represents one person that was killed in the terrorist attacks of 9/11. We also held a remembrance ceremony during the school day on 9/11.
Car Wash 9.2.2017
We held a car wash at Towne Center on Saturday, September 2nd to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Although we got rained out, we were still able to raise about $310 for the people affected by this hurricane.
DLC Winning Video
This is the video that we made for the 2017 Ohio District Leadership Conference. It won first place at DLC and advanced to International Convention, where it won 3rd place.
District Leadership Conference 3.10.2017 - 3.12.2017
District Leadership Conference is an event for all the high school key clubs in Ohio. Clubs meet at a hotel in Columbus for a fun weekend! This year, our club entered contests and won first in the oratorical, talent, and video contests (Ahmed gave a speech, Casey & Evan performed Ice Ice Baby, and Syd, Jordan, & Evan made the winning video).
Ronald McDonald House 2.18.2017
On Saturday, February 18th, 2017, a few volunteers travelled to Cleveland to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and make dinner for the families staying there. Dinner included soup, salad, and breadsticks.

Car Wash Fundraiser 9.24.2016
In order to raise funds for our club account, we held a car wash at Towne Center in Avon Lake. It was a lot of fun and was a huge success, raising over $500 for our club!
Big Trucks 9.17.2016
Big Trucks is an event held by the Avon Lake Police Station that features fire trucks, police cars, and other types of trucks. Volunteers served food, helped pass out gift bags, helped kids on to trucks, and helped direct people on which way to go within the police station.
Hay Day 9.10.2016
Hay Day was held on Saturday, September 10th 2016. Volunteers painted faces, ran games for kids that came to the event, and helped walk the horses around!
Veterans' Honor Run 2016
The Veterans' Honor Run is our signature Key Club event that we host. Located in Avon Lake's Kopf Reservation, people sign up for a 5k run or 1 mile walk, and all the money raised from the event goes to wounded veterans. Last year, we raised $1710 from this event.
